I wrote and recorded the soundtrack for this short film of architectural photography by Erieta Attali.

Given complete freedom, I spent a lot of time recording phrases and layers with my 1978 Ibanez Artist guitar with a massive convolution reverb, it really felt like this setup just wrote the piece for me. I was able to work directly with the final edit, so tried to match the mood of the images and transition, while maintaining a musical direction.

I particularly like the sound achieved with a very high gain valve amp, played extremely softly, using only the fretting hand to rub (or “bow”) the strings against the frets; resulting in a high noise floor and wide dynamics.
